YOUTH PROGRAM: CREATING FOR THE CITY

“TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR WORLD”

Within the scope of this theme, undergraduate and graduate students participating in the symposium will design a ceramic sculpture based on a collective production approach, inspired by Kale Group’s “Take Good Care of Your World” initiative. The workshop will be conducted in collaboration with KTSM (Kale Design and Art Center). In line with the “Take Good Care of Your World” approach, which constitutes the conceptual core of the workshop, it is expected that the students’ design and implementation processes will address an environmental or social issue and aim to raise awareness on these matters. At the end of the workshop, the resulting ceramic artwork is intended to possess the qualities necessary for installation in public space in Çanakkale. In this way, the relationship established by young designers with the urban environment will be made visible, while also reinforcing the capacity of art to generate social awareness.

Kale Group – “Take Good Care of Your World” Approach

The environmental, economic, and social challenges faced by the world today compel us to rethink our ways of living, step beyond our comfort zones, and reconsider our values and purposes. The pandemic period, in particular, has led us to reassess what truly gives meaning to our lives. Just as our home is our world, we have come to realize more clearly that the world itself is also our home. We have understood that taking care of only our immediate environment is not sufficient; rather, with every choice we make, we must also take care of the world. Based on this awareness, we initiated the “Take Good Care of Your World” movement.Through this movement, we believe that small changes initiated within our own worlds can come together to form a meaningful transformation—one that shapes the future and contributes to healing the world. We believe that change begins with the self, from our immediate surroundings, from the local—and that these efforts can generate significant outcomes. The “Take Good Care of Your World” movement is an inclusive initiative without boundaries. It encompasses the entire ecosystem necessary for building a better life, including production, consumption, ecology, and social living. By encouraging collaboration based on expertise, skills, and experience, we aim to develop innovative and creative solutions by leveraging the strength of our ecosystem.Through this movement, which we have initiated with a community-oriented approach together with all our stakeholders, we are constructing a future grounded in our core values. We strive to walk this path together with everyone who cares for their world. At the core of Kale Group lies a consistent and enduring commitment to creating shared value. We prioritize and invest in cyclical projects that generate positive impact. We view the “Take Good Care of Your World” movement as a platform that brings together individuals who care for their world, with the goal of promoting sustainable living for both present and future generations.
